Recent EPA regulations set very stringent particulate emission standards for coal-fired power plants, as well as limit mercury and acid gas emissions.  This has led to an increased use of fabric filter baghouses, often in combination with sorbents for mercury and/or acid gas removal.  EPRI and Southern Company have research collaboration around the use of a pilot-scale (20,000 ft3/min slip stream) baghouse on flue-gas from medium-to-high-sulfur fuel.  This talk will review recent results around emission control, particulate filtration, pulse-jet cleaning, and baghouse O&M.
