It is most rewarding to break open new areas of research in catalysis. Most of my research areas were self chosen and not chosen based on funding opportunities. I have studied where I felt that I could conduct unique experiments providing a unique insight into the fundamental catalytic mechanism or reactor engineering. Fortunately, my students were able to follow and help develop my initial ideas into their most rewarding results.
