670 Biocatalysis and Biosynthesis III: Fine Chemicals and Natural Products

Thursday, November 20, 2014: 12:30 PM

Description:
The focus of this session is to reflect the latest applications in biocatalysis and biosynthesis of small molecules, including fine chemicals and natural products. Suggested topics include, but are not limited to: (1) Discovery and characterization of new biosynthetic pathways; (2) Engineered biosynthesis of new chemical entities; (3) Rational and combinatorial manipulation of biosynthetic pathways; and (4) Optimization of biosynthetic enzymes and pathways. We also encourage submissions that demonstrate applications for enzyme co-localization, immobilization, and controlling enzyme orientation. Topics that cover the metabolic engineering of primary metabolites are better suited in the metabolic engineering sections.
