615 Biocatalysis and Biosynthesis II: Biofuels and Commodity Chemicals Applications

Thursday, November 20, 2014: 8:30 AM
204 (Hilton Atlanta)
Description:
The focus of this session is to reflect the latest applications in biocatalysis and biosynthesis of small molecules, including biofuels and commodity chemicals. Suggested topics include, but are not limited to: (1) Discovery and characterization of new biosynthetic pathways; (2) Engineered biosynthesis of new chemical entities; (3) Rational and combinatorial manipulation of biosynthetic pathways; and (4) Optimization of biosynthetic enzymes and pathways. We also encourage submissions that demonstrate applications for enzyme co-localization, immobilization, and controlling enzyme orientation. Topics that cover the metabolic engineering of primary metabolites are better suited in the metabolic engineering sections.
