Description:
Papers on novel synthesis routes, characterization and/or applications of functional nanoparticles are sought. Although the emphasis is on nanoparticles (< 100 nm), studies on larger particle systems exhibiting nanoscale properties are also welcome. Functionalization of the particle surface to achieve specific physical, optical, electronic, chemical or biomedical properties will be highlighted. Special emphasis will be paid to in-situ modification of nanoparticles tailoring their properties to achieve high performance in the final application, e.g. to enhance catalytic activity, band structure or dispersion in polymer matrices. Authors are encouraged to present the connection between synthesis conditions, chemical and crystal composition, structure and the surface functionality in specific applications.
