676 Challenges in Small-Scale Synthesis - Pilot Plants

Thursday, November 20, 2014: 12:30 PM
Crystal Ballroom C/D (Hilton Atlanta)
Description:
Pilot Plants and Kilo-labs are fundamental to R&D and supply chains. Case studies and examples of scale-up or scale-down challenges and how they were solved are of interest. These may include new reactor designs, continuous processing, mixing, crystallization, filtration, and drying challenges. In addition, examples of process modeling or methods to gain better process understanding of kilo-lab and pilot plant operations are encouraged. Another area of interest is a High Throughput unit which poses unique challenges but affords equally unique benefits where smaller amounts can be studied without wasting valuable resources in producing larger quantities.
