Monodisperse non-spherical cross-linked polystyrene(PS) particles were prepared through dispersion polymerization where divinylbenzene(DVB) were used as an crosslinker and added dropwise after the nucleation stage finished . The morphology of the obtained particles could be controlled by adjusting the he addition point and feeding time of DVB. As the feeding time of DVB increased , PS particles transformed from knobby dented sphere into smooth dented sphere with several dimples on the surface. It were also found that the dent of the particles tended to become slighter with the later addition time of DVB , which were verified by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) . Additionally, different concentration of DVB ranged from 0.5wt% to 3wt% had little influence on the morphology of the product.
