391639 Land Use Emissions and Environmental Impacts of Agricultural Systems
Wednesday, November 19, 2014
Galleria Exhibit Hall (Hilton Atlanta)
This poster presents results related to direct land use emissions and fluxes associated with agricultural activities. These emissions are further translated into environmental and climate impacts. The presented results relate to the case study of San Luis Valley in south central Colorado. The emissions (e.g. CO2, N2O etc.) are estimated using DNDC model and impact assessment methods are used to translate them into environmental impacts. We present results related different scenarios such as varying crops, cropping patterns, agricultural practices etc. We also discuss the relevance of these results in the context of regional sustainability.
