Ionic liquids have been used effectively to improve ionic conductivity of diblock copolymers in past works. We suggest that polymer-grafted nanoparticles with sulfonated end groups can be used as a new way of controlling particle dispersion and ion aggregation within ionic liquids. In this talk, the structures of synthesized ionically functionalized polymer-grafted iron oxide nanoparticles will be examined and discussed through SAXS and TEM analysis.
