381158 Application of Thermal Analysis for Measuring Total Lipid Contents in Large Scale Cultivation of Freshwater Microalgae

The large variability remains an important problem in measurement of algae productivity and compositional analysis, especially, the total lipid contents. To overcome this problem, various high-throughput measurement method were suggested. In present study, the measuring heat evolved in temperature range from 310 to 351 oC was available for rapid measurement of total lipid contents when microalgae was produced in-situ large-scale production. As a results, the linear relationship was detected between the heat evolved (HE) and total lipid content of microbial cells. As like, there was a linear relationship of 98% between the HE value and the total lipid content of the tested microorganisms.
