The University of Toledo, located in Toledo, Ohio, is a comprehensive university with colleges of engineering, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and law as well as colleges for the arts and sciences. The University is among the largest in Ohio in terms of student population and budget. The University also possesses one the largest clusters of faculty working in membrane science and engineering in the United States. Faculty are involved in myriad application areas from reverse osmosis to gas separation to energy production. They work on fundamentals of membrane science and engineering ranging from material synthesis to membrane formation and modification to module design. A summary of past research accomplishments and current research activity is provided.
