Description:
The interest in Membrane Distillation has been growing significantly in the last few years. Various pilot plants have been operating in different countries. International projects have been sponsored in Europe and worldwide. In this session papers are invited that discuss various aspects of research and development on membrane distillation (MD). The feed solution to be treated may be brine or any other aqueous feed. Papers dealing with novel membranes, membrane development, process performance and modeling, scale-up and demonstration are welcome. MD techniques covered include DCMD, AGMD, VMD and SGMD. This session will also cover membrane crystallization as an extension of the membrane distillation process implemented via MD membranes and other membranes/techniques
