642 Sustainable & Green Process Development
642 Sustainable & Green Process Development
Thursday, November 7, 2013: 8:30 AM
Union Square 20 (Hilton)
Description:
Sustainable development has emerged as a new way of conducting business that promotes social, natural and economic growth, now and in the future. This concept has gained a great importance as a scientific vision in the last two decades; it is also gaining traction as an economic vision. There is an increasing focus on the triple bottom line “people, planet, profit”, which is becoming a more common approach to project funding, tracking, and approval.
This session is interested in the application of sustainable practices to process development. Whether that application is through; the development of cleaner energy, minimizing environmental impact, increased material and energy efficiency, innovative feed stock use, transparent reporting of financial and non-financial performance, or positively impacting the communities and personnel involved in the process.
