185 Issues and Challenges in Teaching Chemical Process Design
Monday, November 4, 2013: 3:15 PM
Union Square 20 (Hilton)
Description:
Fundamental challenges in teaching chemical process design include deciding whether to have industrial involvement (and if so, how to achieve it), whether to use advanced simulation tools (and if so, whether to introduce these earlier in the undergraduate curriculum) , and whether to use problem based or prescriptive learning techniques. After a series of invited short presentations on current practices in teaching chemical process design, there will be a panel discussion focused on these and other challenges, followed by an open discussion with the audience. Engineers from industry are especially welcome to listen and participate in the audience discussion.
