The decision to return to school is a big one. The cost and effort are heavy. And the expectations are uncertain and the outcome is undecided. So the actual return to school is often put off or not done at all. Oftentimes the individual comes to the conclusion that a "mistake" has been made. If a faculty member can capture the individual at this time this can be helpful to the person and encourage the indivdual. The teacher can suggest tools and methods that a younger person may not know about and thus encourage a career change or a more productive direction.
