Most Chemical Engineering faculty members are not licensed.  Why?  Is it important for faculty to be licensed?  A few departments have in the past required faculty teaching engineering courses to be licensed.  Is this beneficial?  Many undergraduates take the Fundamentals of Engineering exam but do not take the Professional Engineering exam.  Why?  Is the FE Exam relevant for assessing ABET outcomes?  Is licensure important for faculty who are conducting research?  Should we encourage faculty to obtain their PE license?  In this presentation these questions will be discussed.
