Description:
This session seeks papers related to specialty extractions in the areas of bioprocessing and reactive applications. Extraction has become an important unit operation for bioproduct separations because it is able to isolate, concentrate, and purify these products from dilute solutions. We seek papers that describe fundamentals and novel applications of extraction in bioproduct recovery and purification. For reactive extraction, papers focused on the application of chemical engineering fundamentals to reactive solvent extractions, including chemical thermodynamics, reaction mechanisms and kinetics, and mass transfer phenomena are strongly encouraged.
