The Pmnb polymorph of Li2MnSiO4 was successfully synthesized via an adipic acid assisted Sol-Gel procedure. The structure and purity were investigated by powder x-ray diffraction (pXRD). The material exhibited an initial discharge capacity of 130 mAh/g, and retained greater than 100 mAh/g for ten cycles, demonstrating that this polymorph can be cycled. Coulombic efficiency of 90% is achieved after 7 cycles. Further investigation will include the structural stability of the Pmnb polymorph upon cycling.
