200 E (Minneapolis Convention Center)

Description:
Tutorials in Current Topics in Membrane Science and Technology The application of membrane technology in both the traditional operations of the chemical and process industries, as well as, the burgeoning areas of biomedical; renewable energy; sustainability; portable power; and specialty packaging are growing at an increasing rate. When coupled to its already significant role in water treatment and reuse, the drivers for advancements in membrane science and technology are exceptionally great. This session solicits "experts" to present tutorial papers that will focus on the fundamental engineering, science, and materials aspects of current, commercial membrane technology, as well as, future trends that will serve both today's and tomorrow's economic growth. The presentations should provide the practicing engineer and engineering scientist with a reasonably detailed overview of the state-of-the-art in membrane technology and how it may relate to their specific interests.
