Advances In Protein Expression and Post-Translational Modification

Thursday, October 20, 2011: 3:15 PM
L100 J (Minneapolis Convention Center)

Description:
This session will highlight advances in protein expression in a wide variety of hosts including bacteria, yeast, insect cells, mammalian cells, and plant cells. Advances in cell-free protein expression are also appropriate for this session and industrially focused talks are welcomed. The session will also focus on the engineering of expression hosts for improved protein expression as well as on the design of novel methods for protein display, detection of intracellular trafficking, and cell to cell communication. In addition to the focus on protein expression, the session will also include papers on the development of in vivo and in vitro techniques for improved posttranslational modification of proteins, including folding, glycosylation, editing and secretion.
