Nanomechanical Aspects at Interfaces

Tuesday, October 18, 2011: 8:30 AM
101 B (Minneapolis Convention Center)

Description:
This session focuses on the interplay between interfacial chemical characteristics and nanomechanical performance. Of particular interest are, but not limited to, effects of monolayers or other thin films on tribology, tailored particle-surface interactions and molecularly engineered and constructed layers designed to produce some function. Also of interest include measurements of interfacial characteristics, harnessing interfacial phenomena to address technological problems, and the general approach of tuning interfacial properties to achieve desired chemical and physical functions.
