Integrated Thermo-Chemical and Biochemical Processing for Renewable Fuels and Chemicals

Thursday, October 20, 2011: 12:30 PM
207 A/B (Minneapolis Convention Center)

Description:
This session will explore the integration of thermo-chemical and biochemical processes for the conversion of renewable feedstocks into biofuels and/or bulk chemicals. The process integration aims to improve the sustainability of biorefineries by maximizing the utilization of feedstocks to produce final products, minimizing the production of wastes, and/or minimizing the usage of process energy from non-renewable sources. Papers will be favored that emphasize fundamental principles of engineering.
