Simultaneous Energy and Emission Reduction for Chemical Industries

Wednesday, October 19, 2011: 3:15 PM
Conrad D (Hilton Minneapolis)

Description:
During last decades, chemical process industries are facing more and more severe environmental restrictions and more pressure on reducing costs. For many plants, energy cost, which includes electricity, fuel and steam, is the major part of the total operating cost. Meanwhile, energy consumption causes emissions to environment. Thus, a new technique, software, algorithm or method that reduces energy consumption may also reduce air emissions. This session discusses new techniques, software, algorithms or methods to reduce energy consumption and emissions for process industries.
