Pumping slurries, particularly biomass slurries, is especially difficult in high pressure applications and push mechanical systems to their limits. Economics of biomass conversion processes require always higher solids content which complicates pumping further. This presentation will focus on rheology of woody biomass slurries at different concentrations and pumping these slurries to high pressure at both pilot and demonstration scale.
