Often in global corporations, best practices emerge that enable a company to improve business performance at alocal facility or region. In this presentation we will look at how best practices emerge locally but are often ignoredin a global perspective due to their local or regional origin. Many of these best practices are developed “below theradar” and work very well for a local market; however small changes and the proper strategy for adaptation canturn the best practices into company-wide global competence. We will we will discuss methods that a companycan “dig out” these practices and find the critical success factors, discuss strategies of implementing these bestpractices in other regions and how they could be used to improve business performance globally. Finally, we willalso look at potential pitfalls and how to overcome obstacles in a global implementation effort.
