ABET Accreditation of Miami University's Chemical Engineering Program

Chemical engineering program at Miami University grew out of its nearly 50 year old program in Paper Science and Engineering. The first cohort of students graduated from this program in year 2008, when this program was first accredited. The paper will describe the relationship between the curriculum, ABET outcomes and objectives. In addition, the development of various methodologies for measurement of the achievement of the learning outcomes and program objectives will be discussed. A short summary of the best practices for successful accreditation of the major will be addressed as well.
