Invited Lecture: Nanoporous Membranes for Energy Applications

Tuesday, October 18, 2011: 8:30 AM
213 A (Minneapolis Convention Center)
Yushan Yan, Department of Chemical & Environmental Engineering, University of California, Riverside, Riverside, CA

Nanoporous membranes based on zeolite, polymer-zeolite nanocomposite, and pure polymer for energy applications will be discussed. Specific examples include zeolite membranes for purification of biofuels, polymer-zeolite nanocomposite membranes for sea water desalination, and pure polymer membranes for fuel cells and other electrochemical energy conversion devices such as electrolyzers, flow batteries, and solar hydrogen and solar fuels.
