Polymer Nanocomposites Comprised of Diphenylamine End-Group Polymer and Quantum Dots

Nanocomposite films comprised of diphenylamine end-group polymers and CdSe/ZnS quantum dots (QDs) were fabricated electrochemically from the monomers and QDs solution on an Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) coated glass. The growth thermodynamics was investigated by the electrochemical methods such as cyclic voltammetry (CV). These films were also characterized by fluorescence microscopy, spectroscopies (FTIR, UV-Vis, photoluminescence), and SEM. These nanocomposite films show very strong fluorescence. The QDs were distributed as circles in the polymeric matrix as observed by fluorescence microscopy and SEM. Air-stable electrochromical window was also assembled and operated without obvious degradation even after 100 times scan. The UV-Visible incorporated electrochemical spectroscopies were also studied on these novel nanocomposite thin films.
