Activities of the Council for Chemical Research

Over the last year the funding environment for science and engineering has drastically changed in Washington DC.  An overview of strategies being used by organizations will be discussed.  For various reasons, several organizations including AIChE have strictly reduced their activities or left the advocacy arena.  This is at a time when there are a large number of freshman congress men and women that need to be educated to the benefits of science and technology funding and at a time when enormous budget cuts are required to balance the budget.  A strategy to put all hands on deck is needed and will be described for your participation this summer.
