Chromatography applications in the purification of whey proteins
Ion exchange chromatography is shown to be a powerful technique for the purification of a host of different proteins. In recent years, significant progress has been made in enhancing the binding capacity of ion exchangers. The next generation ion exchangers, Nuvia S and Nuvia Q, are of high dynamic capacity and are suitable for the fast capture of proteins. Because of the high-throughput properties of Nuvia resins, a rapid single-step purification of proteins from whey is demonstrated.
