Student Chapter Workshops

Student Chapter Workshops are best practices for successful AIChE student chapters. These workshops are presented by student chapter leaders in three 25-minute sessions on Saturday, November 6 from 10:00am - 12:00pm. If your chapter wants to share why your chapter works well, please send us a workshop proposal.

Proposals should include:

  • your college or university name,
  • the aspect of chapter functioning that your chapter excels in,
  • the reasons behind your excellence,
  • take-home points for the audience,
  • the names of likely speakers,
  • approval of the chapter president, and
  • approval of the faculty advisor

Career Workshops

Career workshops are intended to give undergraduate students information on the opportunities and challenges they might encounter when they graduate with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. These workshops provide an opportunity to promote your division/forum/committee to some of our brightest future chemical engineers. The workshops will be conducted on Saturday, November 6 from 1:00-4:00PM in 25 minute time slots with a 5 minute break in between. In the past we have allowed some workshops to extend to 50 by combining two 25-minute time slots, but we would like to limit those to allow students a chance to attend other workshops. Attendance varies from about 30 to over 100 depending on the popularity of the workshop. Depending on the number of proposals and the duration of your workshop, we will allow you to repeat your session a few times during the 1:00-4:00 PM time period.

Proposals should include:

  • The title of your workshop
  • Names and email addresses of organizers and presenters
  • Name of sponsoring AIChE Division, forum, group, etc.
  • Duration of your workshop (minutes) and number of repetitions requested - Sessions are typically 25 minutes with a 5 minute break in between sessions.
  • Short abstract of your workshop (150 words or less)
