Description:
The use of large scale- batch and continuous chromatography processes in producing chemicals, petrochemicals, bio-chemicals, pharmaceuticals, foods, and clean water among others has progressively increased over the last few decades. This session focuses on the integration of large scale chromatography into commercial manufacturing or large scale development. Contributions on the most recent advances in the theory and applications of large scale single and multi-column processes including simulated moving bed (SMB) and its variants, hybrid processes for gas and liquid separations are invited. Talks dealing with development of novel process configurations, improvements of existing ones, control, optimization and experimental studies, novel applications, reduction of organic solvents, reducing power consumption for separations are of particular interest.
