Bioreactors in Tissue Engineering

Monday, November 8, 2010: 8:30 AM
255 E Room (Salt Palace Convention Center)

Description:
Bioreactor systems provide controllable and reproducible culture environments that are critical in a) the ex vivo engineering of 3-D tissues based on cells and scaffolds and b) the expansion of progenitor and stem cells. We invite talks involving novel bioreactor design for the analysis of the regulatory roles of specific physiochemical culture parameters on tissue development and stem cell expansion. Contributions on the application, analysis, and design of bioreactor systems for tissue regeneration are also encouraged. Engineering analysis, including simulation and modeling, of the reactor performance coupled with experimental approaches is also welcome.
