Estimation of the State of Model Predictive Control

This presentation summarizes progress to date in the analysis and application of model predictive control technology, focusing on the process industries. Significant remaining opportunities for research and development will be noted. An analysis of Professor Tom Edgar in the context of MPC will also be presented, along with a summary of his impact on the field of process control.
