ABET/AIChE requires that departments demonstrate that graduates have a 'working knowledge' of safety. The SAChE program recommends safety across the curriculum. Neither define 'safety' outcomes. The purpose of this workshop is to develop outcomes and methods to achieve them. Participants will brainstorm, practice industrial methods and discuss good teaching practices in process safety. Colin S. 'Chip' Howat taught process safety for 22 years, consulted in PHA/RA for 15 years and is now in private practice teaching industrial practitioneers and facilitating PHA/RA programs. He is chair of the 2010 Process Plant Safety Symposium.
