Description:
The issue of uncertainty has been the focus of numerous publications in the last decade. A lot of advantages have thus been reported in terms of uncertainty characterization, evaluation and modeling within process design and operations. However, a number of issues are still unresolved and necessitate the need of additional work in this area. Among them are questions regarding the efficient solution of large-scale problems and the applicability of the proposed methodologies in realistic case studies. Papers are sought that describe: (i) modeling, algorithmic development and solution procedures for the design and operation under uncertainty, (ii) characterization of system behavior under uncertainty, (iii) evaluation of feasible region of design operation for realistic nonconvex cases, and (iv) integration of uncertainty analysis within process design and operations in a unified framework.
