Sensors and Bio-Imaging Contrast Agents at the Cellular Level

Thursday, November 12, 2009: 3:15 PM
Governor's Chamber A (Gaylord Opryland Hotel)

Description:
This session will explore chemical analysis and bio-imaging modalities at the sub-cellular level. The former category includes optical sensors in the form of molecular beacons, FRET and charge transfer complexes to detect important analytes at the cellular scale. Electrochemical detection and other modes are also appropriate if at the single cell level. Similarly, several bio-imaging modalities are appropriate, including fluorescence, OCT and other scattering mechanisms, MRI and ultrasound, if applied to cellular and sub-cellular imaging.
