A panel discussion about careers in Academia with special emphasis on the issues pertaining to women. The session is sponsored by the Women's Initiative Committee and will be moderated by Drs. Elizabeth Cosgriff-Hernandez and Upma Sharma. Panelists from pre- and post-tenure faculty positions will provide a breadth of experiences and perspectives for young female engineers interested in pursuing academic careers. Moderators will guide discussions about experiences in academia including applying and interviewing for faculty positions, starting a laboratory and grant writing, and the tenure process. The session will end with a discussion based on questions from the audience.
