Ryman Hall B1/B2 (Gaylord Opryland Hotel)
Students from Rowan University's chemical engineering department are working with the Center for Structured Organic Particulate Systems (C-SOPS), funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and located at Rutgers University, to create educational materials based on drug delivery systems. These educational materials introduce engineering concepts at the high school and college level. The materials developed include an introduction to drug delivery, a web-based experiment on tablet production and drug release testing, photographs of tablet production equipment, and a problem set with solutions. The problems developed vary in difficulty and technical content. The problems focus on drug release systems and pharmaceutical processes to teach introductory engineering concepts such as unit conversions, the Ideal Gas Law, and mass and energy balances. The educational materials will be distributed via the Pharmahub website at https://pharmahub.org.
