This paper will compare and contrast the alternative methods that have been proposed for the production of hydrogen from nuclear energy. Using performance projections that are available in the literature, and taking alkaline electrolysis with nuclear power as the benchmark, it will compare heat and power requirements on a unit hydrogen production basis. Estimates will also be made for the cost of hydrogen production by each of the alternative routes.
