Steps towards Enterprise-Wide Optimization

Driving solutions to improve reliability and optimize performance of our production and distribution systems is one of the missions of our research teams in Process Control & Logistics. While the research component is important in the development of optimization and decision support tools, the implementation in the field requires many different competencies and calls on resources from different parts of the company. It is truly a team work, relying on an international network of research teams, business sponsors, industrial IT entities, outside vendors and operational units. This presentation illustrates some of the solutions developed from energy management to optimized production and distribution, focusing on lessons learned. These technology bricks represent a solid foundation towards Enterprise-Wide Optimization in the industrial gas business.
