As an undergraduate in the sixties studying at Imperial College of Science and Technology, University of London, the only institution I thought I could leave Imperial College to do post-graduate studies was either Cambridge University or MIT. But on the advice of my cousin, I applied to the University of Waterloo, in Canada. I thought I was going to meet my waterloo in Canada by changing my University. But in Canada I met my victoria in the person of Professor Willis Harmon Ray as his first Master and PhD graduate student.
