The U.S. nuclear industry is ramping up to be a significant contributor for meeting the increased electricity needs and helping achieve energy security and climate change goals. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to make remediated lands at various DOE sites available to third parties for rapid development of large-scale energy facilities. This paper describes the energy park concept and the benefits it brings for creating jobs and accelerating implementation of new energy production facilities to meet U.S. energy needs.
