Pilot Plant Centenary Celebration (TF)

#243 - Reaction Engineering and Reactor Design - Sponsored by Group 12b, Pilot Plants (TF004)
Chemical conversions are often the core element of a given process technology or development. Reaction engineering and reactor design thus play a central role in pilot plant programs. This session is dedicated to the central role of reaction engineering and reactor design in pilot plant operations, over the 100-year history of AIChE. Topics include new trends best practices and case studies in pilot plant reactors, historical evolutions in reactor piloting, scale-up and scale down criterion, kinetic vs. transport control, data assurance, selection of reactor type, catalytic and noncatalytic systems, reactor modeling and optimization.
