Interfacial Phenomena (01c)

#453 - Adaptive / Responsive Interfaces (01C12)
This session welcomes both experimental and theoretical treatments of surface phenomena that are induced by external stimuli such as temperature, electric or magnetic field, photon exposure, and pH. Relevant topics include creation, tuning, and characterization of stimuli-responsive surfaces, polymer coatings, and biomaterials, advanced surface modification methods to create or improve surface functionality, reversible or reactive wetting and spreading, and interfacial dynamics in the presence of an external stimulus. Discussions on potential applications of adaptive/responsive interfaces are especially encouraged.
