Bioengineering (15c)

#342 - Biofuels and Biochemicals I (15C12)
Biofuels and biochemicals are produced from vastly abundant and renewable biomass for societal use. Biofuels and biochemicals relieve the society's dependence on the limited fossil deposits. They also help mitigate global warming effects by inserting the carbon source in the middle of the otherwise a short recirculation loop: from atmosphere (Carbon dioxide to Biomass to Carbon Dioxide ...) on a short cycle. This session focuses on manufacturing biofuels and biochemicals from biomass through biological pathways.
