#568 - Advances in Biocatalysis II (15C10)
This session focuses on engineering studies employing or enabling biocatalysis under non-biological conditions. The audience will be individuals from academia, government labs, and industry working to advance the usage of biocatalysis in all areas such as pharmaceuticals production, industrial processing and lignocellulose degradation. Talks will be sought to include both basic research studies and application examples thought to be beneficial to a wide biocatalysis audience. Possible examples include: stability engineering via selection or rational design, extremophile whole organism or pathway engineering, advances in process design, immobilization or regeneration, fundamental understanding of non-aqueous solvation effects in enzyme catalysis, advances in cofactor recycling, understanding of glycosylation effects on activity or secretion and methods to express active extreme enzymes in mesophilic hosts.
