#321 - Stem Cells in Tissue Engineering (15E04)
Stem cells with their ability to self-renew extensively and their capacity for multilineage differentiation are an ideal, inexhaustible source of tissue for clinical applications. This session will focus on bioengineering approaches aiming at furthering our knowledge in the field of stem/progenitor cell biology and developing systems that will facilitate the realization of stem/progenitor cell-based biomedical and biotechnology applications. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: maintenance of stem cell self-renewal, directed functional differentiation of stem/progenitor cells, studies on stem cell-derived tissue development and morphogenesis, expansion and/or differentiation of stem/progenitor cells using tissue engineering scaffolds and scalable bioreactors.
