The dynamics of colloid and polymer are studied using fluorescence video microscopy. Square channels of different widths are made by soft lithography in order to investigate the nature of the crossover from one- to two-dimensional diffusion, at various concentrations. A particle tracking system records the trajectories of individual colloids and polymers and their self-diffusion coefficients are obtained from the mean-squared displacements.
