The US EPA's Office of Research & Development has tested a series of additives to provide multipollutant capture capacity to standard flue gas desulfurization scrubbers. One of these additives has shown particular promise for NOx and Hg capture from flue gas from coal-fired utilities and other thermal processes. Results from this research program will be discussed.
